Spring 2013

The Capitol Symphonic Winds Spring concert took place on Wednesday, May 8, at University of Hartford's Millard Auditorium.

Special solo performances included:
Aaron Copland's "Quiet City" featuring Shelby Apuzzo on English Horn and Eric Tunkel on Trumpet &
R. Vaughn Williams' "Concerto for Tuba" featuring Justin Chervony on Tuba and David Winer as Conductor

Winter 2012

The Capitol Symphonic Winds Winter concert took place on Wednesday, December 12, at University of Hartford's Lincoln Theater.

Our program featured the premiere of "The Lady, or the Tiger?" written by Benjamin Park, who is a member of the ensemble's french horn section. The program will also include "Four Rhodian Scenes" featuring Catherine O'Kelly on guitar. Catherine is also a member of our oboe section.

Spring 2012

The Capitol Winds Spring 2012 performance took place on Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at 7:30 p.m. at Millard Auditorium on the campus of the University of Hartford. Capitol Winds, is a symphonic band that is under the direction of Gary Partridge.

The concert program featured Walter Mamlok playing the Artie Shaw "Clarinet Concerto".

Other concert selections include the works of Percy Grainger, John Philip Sousa, David Maslanka, Howard Hanson, and the Premier of Adam Summerer's "Skrimish and Sword Dance".

Under the direction of Gary Partridge, the Capitol Symphonic Winds Spring 2011 performance took place on Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at 7:30 p.m. at the Lincoln Theater on the campus of the University of Hartford.

Featured artists in this concert include Mark Hausman playing Haydn's Concerto for B flat Cornet on Euphonium, and Matt DeLassus conducting Williams Symphonic Dance #3. The ensemble will also perform compositions by Shostakovich, Mackey, Woolfenden, Sparke, and Sousa.

Ceremonial Flourishes by James Curnow, With Quiet Courage by Larry Daehn, Bandancing by Jack Stamp, Dance of the Comedians by Bedrich Smetana, Raise of the Son by Rossano Galante, Symphony of Prayer by J. Eric Schmidt, and A Most Wonderful Christmas by Robert Sheldon. Please note that this will be the world premiere of the Symphony of Prayer being played in its entirety.

An all "March" music concert featured works by William Walton, Percy Grainger, Lockhart-Seitz-Alford, Henry Fillmore, Paul Hindemith, Morton Gould, Davide Delle Cese, and John Philip Sousa.
